Using the Onsite Delivery Model Emeritis will provide their skilled personnel on the client’s site who work in continuous interaction with the client’s team for the entire project duration, ranging between the point of collecting information to its implementation as well as its maintenance and support. The only difference between the customer’s normal working model and the onsite model is that the client’s task is accomplished by a team of outsiders i.e. service providers working within the same premises as the other employees of the client.
Within the onsite delivery model we can distinguish difference ways of providing the onsite services:
- Project based onsite services
- Time & Material
Project based onsite services:
The project based delivery model are also known as fixed price projects. This delivery model is mostly introduced for tightly controlled projects with well-defined project specifications a well defined timeline and inflexible budgetary constraints. These delivery models do not necessitate knowledge retention between projects and therefore client relationship remains confined to the project lifetime.
On receipt of the requirements specifications from the client, Emeritis takes the following steps:
- Analyze comprehensively the requirements specifications and generate an estimate on time, effort, and schedule
- Communicate the estimate to the client along with a project delivery schedule for the complete product development
- Emeritis enters into an agreement with the client once both the parties agree on the estimate.
From here on, the project is executed strictly as per the agreement. For any changes a standard "change request procedure" is followed for which we have structured "Change Request" process in place.
In general, this model has following advantages:
- The exact project budget is known to the client in advance based on a well defined scope and timeline.
- Specialist professional work on the project
- Win-win situation for both the parties
- Face-to-face dealings with the client: Continuous interaction with the client is possible which enables the service provider to have a clear understanding of what the client is expecting from them and also of the end results desired by the client.
- On Hand Information: The service provider can obtain first hand information by understanding the scenario existing at the client’s place.
- No chance of communication gap.
- Strict budget and scope control
Time & material:
In many cases the case of the project, exact expectations and requirements are not clearly defined at the initial stage. As a result often the specifications, requirements and design tend to change a lot during the project resulting in numerous Change Request impacting the project timeline. This can cause some friction. Therefore Emeritis offers a ‘Time & Material’ solution. This offers greater flexibility to the clients in terms of developing the project specification on an ongoing basis and changing the specifications based on the upcoming requirements a customer changes.
Emeritis uses a transparent project approach where strict project management and reporting practices are followed whereby time-sheets are generated on a regular basis for each person working on the project. Emeritis’ will also ensure to share the customer concern on incrementing project scope and budget and to ensure proper communication, information and follow-up is provided. This fits within the partner approach of Emeritis where we entails the customer vision and objectives as our own project vision.
Cost of project in this model depends on the team size and the efforts required from each team member. The payment is made on the basis of monthly invoice issued to the client depending on the effort reports using the agreed daily rates chargeable to the client.
This delivery model allows:
- Easy change incorporation: Clients have flexibility to modify their application in the course of project execution
- Freedom of allocation and de-allocation of additional resources to reduce development time and cost respectively
- Clients can monitor progress of the project with the help of regular work reporting
- Joint project control and follow up benefits the customer and partnership approach of Emeritis.
